Blue pea sprouts compliment light meals at any time of the year. They produce a sweet, crunchy and nutritious shoot that are rich in vitamins and minerals. They can be grown together with other sprouting seeds such as chickpeas, adzuki beans, mung beans and lentils which sprout in the same length of time. Sprout combos are great as a snack and can easily be added to most cold and warm meals – use them in soups, stir-fries and omelettes or include them as a side serving to a main.
Blue Pea beans are rich in Vitamins A, B, C and E as well as calcium, magnesium, chlorophyll, iron, niacin, phosphorus and potassium.
How to use Blue Pea Seeds for sprouting:
Before sprouting, rinse thoroughly in fresh water then soak seeds for 4 hours.
For best results sow seeds thinly.
Germination time may vary with temperature.
Amount per tray / jar: 1 tablespoon of seeds.
Temperature: 18 – 20°C.
Water: 2-3 times daily
Ready to eat: After approximately 2 to 3 days
